Introduction Part I Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three Chapter Four Chapter Five Chapter Six Chapter Seven Back to Realelvish |
01/04/09- With all of this extra time I have because of Winter Break, I've updated the pronoun section, and cleaned up the wording in the Class Plurals. 11/27/09- My phonetics class is studying syllable structure and the effects of syllables on phonetic structure of words. Because of that, I was able to rewrite much of the section on syllables, and now I know the proper way to notate syllable boundaries and stress. 09/11/09- I reworked the basic syntax of modifiers lesson to hopefully do a better job at teaching the information. I also fixed up the homework to match. 08/25/09- The pronunciation chapter has been beautified. It now includes a bit of Tolkien speaking Sindarin! I also fixed up the second lesson of Chapter 1, to more accurately describe the word-mediate consonants. 01/11/09- Even though I can't afford a copy of it yet, I got wind of some intriguing information about Sindarin negation in Parma Eldalamberon 17 and updated the Sindarin negation section. 01/10/09- I wrote that phonology chapter four years ago. Back then, I only knew as much about linguistics as I had taught myself. While I knew the concepts, I had made my own names for them and my own phonetic alphabet chart. I didn't know IPA, and couldn't tell you was a voiced consonant was. I had no idea what Tolkien was talking about when he said a "voiceless R". Ahem. I just rewrote the phonology chapter. Enjoy! 01/03/09- After almost an entire year and a half of hiatus, I'm back! I've changed the phonology lessons to IPA, moved the Sindarin lessons onto the main website, changed the way that homework is turned in, and started Phil Smith on a brand new version of the Textbook. Isn't it pretty? Well, as pretty as it is, it's not quite done, so please report any and all technical difficulties that you have with it. Eventually, it will be moved to this URL. 01/21/08- Sigh. I'm sorry to do this, but I'm too busy to correct homework anymore. The reason? I'm getting married! After the marriage rush, I might start correcting homework again, but as for right now, I'm closing the homework turn in. That doesn't mean that the website is closing down, by any means! You can still study Sindarin here. E-mail me if you have questions about a lesson or a translation. 08/05/07- I've removed everyone's e-mails from the roster so spambots will have a harder time getting at you guys. For now on, if you want to contact other students, use the forums! 05/12/07- Very special news today: Jules is done with Part 1 of the textbook, and will be taking the Sindarin Final Exam as soon as I finish it! Congratulations Jules! 04/19/07- A new lesson has been added to Chapter 4! I shall require all of the students who passed chapter four to take this new lesson before continuing on. 03/24/07- Chapter 3 has had a makeover! It's all mathematically correct now. 03/06/07- Estel Dunadan has been helping me catch all of the hiding spelling and grammatical mishaps in the lessons as we go through them, bless their heart! 02/28/07- I edited Lesson 2 of Chapter 1 to make it easier to understand. 02/15/07- An important update today. I decided today that the reflexive pronoun "im" is to be used somewhat like "in": it can be used for both the plural and singular pronouns. Sorry for those who were on Chapter 5! 01/24/07- Today, on this glorious afternoon, I edited Lesson Two of Chapter One, and moved the updates link to the side menu. 01/22/07- I edited the directions for the first lesson's homework. Hopefully, it will be easier to understand now. 10/11/06- Thank-you Cassiopeia! She found a mathmatical problem in the Calendars in Chapter 3. 10/01/06- And finally, Part I is complete! I just finished Chapter 7, and next is the Final Exam. 09/29/06- I did some writing, and the last chapter of Part I is almost finished. It's not done enough to be putting it up on the web yet, but done enough to make note of in the syllabus. 08/14/06- Pretty new background! Check it out! Later- A "Link to me!" section is up. Let the world know that you're studying Sindarin here! 08/07/06- Chapter 6 is up! 07/24/06- I edited the wording on the Chapter 1-Lesson 1 homework assignment to reduce confusion. 07/24/06 - A new lesson has been added to the Syllabus. 07/22/06 - I added my bio page. 07/19/06 - Chapter 5 and the Student Roster are up, and I fixed the broken link to the main website. 07/15/06 - Chapter 4 is up and running! 07/12/06 - For starters, I set up the updates page. |
