Timeline of the First Age
Donated byGildor Inglorion
The chaotic and constant revisions by Tolkien on his epic, made its exact dating and chronology difficult and the chronologists only try to represent in the best possible manner the conditions in which the concept was "halted" (not completed). Tolkien also never decided the exact length of that Age (590 or 616 years etc) but it seems that his latest decision was 600 years. Some events are given twice since they differed in the sources. The color code used here is the following:
- Noldor
- Sindar
- Other Elves
- House of Bëor (Beorians)
- House of Haleth (Haladin)
- House of Marach/Hador (Marachians)
- Dwarves
